Crucible Membership

The Crucible is a members-only organization. Almost all events are members only. Membership allows you to attend events at the club as well as bring one guest with you.
To become a member, sign up online and check in with the membership table when you next come in to pay for your membership and get your membership card.

Security at The Crucible

We have had several reports of credit cards and other valuables being taken from our coat room, which as you know, is unattended. We encourage you to check your accounts for unusual or suspicious activity. We also encourage you to keep your wallet with you in the club. We are adding additional lockers to provide more secure storage options; please plan to bring your own lock.

Dungeon 101

Are you new to BDSM, public play, or The Crucible?
Dungeon 101 is The Crucible’s monthly outreach night, designed to help you feel at ease as you explore public play. Dungeon 101 is open to anyone 18 or older who is interested in learning more about BDSM and The Crucible.
All attendees must show a government-issued photo ID.
This is an 18+ event and no alcohol is sold or permitted.
To foster a learning environment, sex is not allowed for the duration of the event.
No advance tickets are necessary or available, admission is at the door ($25 for Crucible members, $35 for non-members, $10 with Gateway card).

Covid-19 Policy

Beginning January 2, 2024, The Crucible will no longer require proof of covid-19 vaccination.
We encourage individuals to make sure they are up-to-date with their boosters per CDC guidelines. As always, if you have symptoms of covid-19 or other airborne illnesses, please stay home. Individuals who wish to wear masks in the club are of course welcome to do so. If you have any questions about this policy, please reach out to info@the-crucible.com.

  • Delving Into Power: DC D/s Weekend with Lee Harrington
    January 30, 2026  5:30 pm - 9:00 pm

    This three-day intensive will journey through our personal experiences and desires for connected, intentional dominance and submission, as well as our further explorations as erotic adventurers and integrated individuals. We will begin by looking at what rituals can mean within dominance and submission, and setting the intentions for our weekend together. In the morning we will take a personal inventory of where we are starting from, what we long for, and what our inner wisdom holds, before turning our eye to what we want from our systems for connection and communication. After that, we will tap into the possibilities of making D/s an empowering, spiritual, and connectivity tool, not just a way to have a good time (though we like a good time, too). Finally we will split into peer discussion groups to explore our personal challenges and desires in D/s, our experiences and hopes, before coming back together to look at our perfect pictures again and work towards manifesting them.This intensive is a single, intimate, experience. After we set our intentions, no new attendees will be able to join so that we can create a safe space for individuals to share and listen with intent. Thus, the weekend also becomes unique, tailored and transformed based on the needs of the attendees and presenter. Adventurers in this intensive will be having a weekend experience, diving in together but coming up with tools for their own route through the maze of desire and passion. Come curious and hungry for information and tools, and ready to open up and share your own longings and ideas as well.

    At Open Play there are no demos and no theme, just our extensive dungeon and your imagination! Open Play nights at The Crucible are great for longer, more involved scenes or those that involve larger groups.

  • LOBO Presents: Animal Haus (21+)
    January 31, 2026  9:00 pm - February 1, 2026  2:00 am

    A wild new play party has just been unleashed at The Crucible. From the creators of Lights Out, Barks Out comes Animal Haus, a monthly music and play event centered at the intersection of pet play and kink. DJs will be spinning all night long, while attendees can explore The Crucible’s 6,000 square feet of play space. Fursuiters, Pups, and petplayers from all around the DMV can expect a fun, consent based, unforgettable evening.

    Animal Haus is a break from LOBO’s usual event (held on the second saturday at The Green Lantern). While you can still expect the same caliber of music and excitement, Animal Haus is centered on bringing together folks from all different communities to play, dance, and
    connect in a way that is solely unique to The Crucible. In this members-only space, nudity and open play is allowed, and occasionally LOBO will feature demo stations so folks can get a taste of different flavors of Kink.

    This event is 21+ and will have a bar. While there is no formal coat check, there is a coat/gear/tote/etc room to hold any of your gear or bags (first come first serve). The Crucible features a dance floor, seating area, lounge, 2 private rooms, a semi private space, and a huge dungeon space packed with furniture to help fulfill any fantasy.

    Please note you must be a member or a guest of a member to attend. One member per guest allowed, guests may only be guested in twice before we ask that they purchase a membership. Memberships are $40 a year and can be purchased from the-crucible.com. Membership must be purchased in advance of attending any event at The Crucible.

  • Crucible Rope Share
    February 1, 2026  4:00 pm - 7:00 pm

    Bondage enthusiasts, new tiers, old riggers, self tiers, escape artists, … If you like rope, The Crucible has an event just for you, Crucible Rope Share.

    If you are, or want to be a part of, the rope family, you are invited to join in an afternoon of rope education, experimentation, and play. A Rope Share offers a bunch of ways to make a great rope day. If you are new to rope or looking for a new tie, instructors will be on hand to provide hands on instruction and guidance to help you improve your skills. If you have a tie that needs workshopping / experimenting, the instructors and other community members may have the insight to share that helps you find your “ah-ha” moment. If you just need a place to tie, the club is available for your use and enjoyment.

    This event is for rope enthusiasts of all skill levels, sexual orientations, gender identities, ages, and race/ethnicity who want to learn about the art of bondage and share their passion for rope with others. Attendees must be Crucible Members or the guest of a member and be 18 years old or older.

  • Black Rose Gateway
    February 5, 2026  7:30 pm - 10:00 pm

    BR Gateway is a special Black Rose meeting intended for individuals (18 and older) who are either new to BDSM or new to the DC kink scene. BR Gateway is designed to facilitate getting your questions answered. Attendees at this event tend to be from diverse ages, backgrounds, genders, orientations, and more — everyone is welcome.  The meeting is an informal discussion and there is nothing you have to bring. Casual or business attire is more appropriate, scene wear is not appropriate.https://br.org/br/gateway/
    Gateway attendees receive a coupon for discounted admission to Dungeon 101 and a Black Rose Tuesday night class.

  • Dungeon 101

    Dungeon 101 serves as an introduction into public BDSM play. If you have never attended a public BDSM play event, it can be a bit daunting. The Dungeon 101 class is specifically designed to make you feel comfortable at your first public BDSM dungeon event. Attendees and presenters come from a diverse cross section of the community, all orientations, genders and kinks are welcome. You are welcome to come alone, bring a friend or bring a bunch of friends.

    From 7:30 until 8:00 PM will be social time. Starting at 8:00 PM, there will be a talk on scene etiquette and an opportunity to learn about the dungeon itself. Directly following will be a "Exploratorium" event until 11:00 PM where you can try and/or experience many different kinds of play scenes. The idea is for it to be a fun evening for everyone!

    No advance tickets are available for this event -  please plan to arrive early and pay at the door.

    More experienced folk come on out after 11:00 PM for Open Play. We ask that everyone except presenters keep their toy bags put away until Open Play starts to avoid confusion. No scenes or play permitted during the Exploratorium.

    This is an outreach event, you do not need to be a BR or Crucible member to attend.

    In order to foster a learning environment, there is no sex allowed at Dungeon 101, and no alcohol is sold. This applies all night, even during open play after the Exploratorium has concluded.
