The Crucible is a members-only organization. Almost all events are members only. Membership allows you to attend events at the club as well as bring one guest with you.
To become a member, sign up online and check in with the membership table when you next come in to pay for your membership and get your membership card.

Dungeon 101

Are you new to BDSM, public play, or The Crucible?
Dungeon 101 is The Crucible’s monthly outreach night, designed to help you feel at ease as you explore public play. Dungeon 101 is open to anyone 18 or older who is interested in learning more about BDSM and The Crucible.
All attendees must show a government-issued photo ID.
This is an 18+ event and no alcohol is sold or permitted.
To foster a learning environment, sex is not allowed for the duration of the event.
No advance tickets are necessary or available, admission is at the door ($25 for Crucible members, $35 for non-members, $10 with Gateway card).

Covid-19 Policy

Beginning January 2, 2024, The Crucible will no longer require proof of covid-19 vaccination.
We encourage individuals to make sure they are up-to-date with their boosters per CDC guidelines. As always, if you have symptoms of covid-19 or other airborne illnesses, please stay home. Individuals who wish to wear masks in the club are of course welcome to do so. If you have any questions about this policy, please reach out to info@the-crucible.com.

    Come celebrate Spooky Season and queer community at Glamour & Gore: A QINKy Horror Drag Spectacular and Social!

    This horror-themed drag show invites you to experience a night of spine-tingling performances, eerie elegance, and devilishly delightful entertainment. Step into the shadows of the fabulous and fearsome as performers dazzle you in wickedly creative costumes, terrifyingly good lip-syncs, and a hauntingly fabulous atmosphere, leaving you screaming for more.

    Doors open at 7:30 pm. Drag show will run from 8:00 pm - 9:30 pm. The dungeon is open until 11:00 pm for socializing. No Play Will Be Allowed.

    • Come dressed in your Halloween costumes!
    • Mix and mingle with your fellow kinky queers before and after the show!
    • Enjoy gender-bending renditions of many things horror and Halloween!
    • Get your libations at the cash bar!

    Please note that this is not QINK’s regular Friday night play party, but a night for socializing and enjoying the artistic macabre brilliance of the DMV queer community. Again, this is NOT a Play Party and play will not be permitted.

    This is a drag show. So, come prepared to tip performers!

    • You can tip with cash handed physically to the performer or our stage kittens/tom cats, or
    • You can tip virtually through the QR codes to each performer’s Venmo that will be posted in the Crucible lobby

    BR Gateway is a special Black Rose meeting intended for individuals (18 and older) who are either new to BDSM or new to the DC kink scene. BR Gateway is designed to facilitate getting your questions answered. Attendees at this event tend to be from diverse ages, backgrounds, genders, orientations, and more — everyone is welcome.  The meeting is an informal discussion and there is nothing you have to bring. Casual or business attire is more appropriate, scene wear is not appropriate.https://br.org/br/gateway/
    Gateway attendees receive a coupon for discounted admission to Dungeon 101 and a Black Rose Tuesday night class.

  • Dungeon 101

    Dungeon 101 serves as an introduction into public BDSM play. If you have never attended a public BDSM play event, it can be a bit daunting. The Dungeon 101 class is specifically designed to make you feel comfortable at your first public BDSM dungeon event. Attendees and presenters come from a diverse cross section of the community, all orientations, genders and kinks are welcome. You are welcome to come alone, bring a friend or bring a bunch of friends.

    From 7:30 until 8:00 PM will be social time. Starting at 8:00 PM, there will be a talk on scene etiquette and an opportunity to learn about the dungeon itself. Directly following will be a "Exploratorium" event until 11:00 PM where you can try and/or experience many different kinds of play scenes. The idea is for it to be a fun evening for everyone!

    No advance tickets are available for this event -  please plan to arrive early and pay at the door.

    More experienced folk come on out after 11:00 PM for Open Play. We ask that everyone except presenters keep their toy bags put away until Open Play starts to avoid confusion. No scenes or play permitted during the Exploratorium.

    This is an outreach event, you do not need to be a BR or Crucible member to attend.

    In order to foster a learning environment, there is no sex allowed at Dungeon 101, and no alcohol is sold. This applies all night, even during open play after the Exploratorium has concluded.

    Introduction to Self-Suspension

    Hitchin' Bitches DC is incredibly excited to announce that for the November Skill Share, we will be joined by Qatherine, all the way from Boston, for a special class! A passionate self-suspender, circus artist, and experienced instructor, Qatherine will be teaching Introduction to Self-Suspension to a lucky 12 folks who are ready to get some air time! If you currently meet or will meet the prerequisites in the description below, reach out ahead of time via DM to our fetlife account so that we save you a spot.

    In self-suspension, a single person takes the role of rigger and rope bottom, allowing for an autonomous experience in the air. While similar in some regards to partnered suspension, self-suspension presents unique challenges and opportunities. This introductory-level class is intended for people with some experience tying rope, but little to no experience self-suspending. We will learn hangers, upline techniques, and lockoffs, which are the building blocks for suspension. Students will then be guided through a basic face-up self-suspension with options for transitions in the air. Throughout this intensive, we will go over the risks involved in self-suspension and the measures we can take to mitigate these risks.

    Prerequisites: Students should have the ability to tie a non-collapsible single column (e.g. Somerville bowline), understanding of forward and reverse tension, knowledge of half-hitches. Students should have some experience tying suspension-worthy chest and lower body harnesses.

    What to bring: A standard suspension kit containing at least eight 25-30 ft long ropes, rigging hardware such as a steel ring and/or climbing-rated carabiners, a climbing sling, and a cutting tool. HB facilitators may have limited extras to share--just reach out.

    HB Logistics Note: While we will still make room for floor rope away from the hard points, this self-suspension class will cap at 12 people. Please send Hitchin Bitches DC a message on Fetlife (@HitchinBitchesDC) to reserve your spot in this special class--RSVPs to the Fetlife event will be treated as just coming to the regular share unless you message us and receive a reply confirming your spot!
